How I Work
Person-centred counselling
Person-centred counselling is a supportive, non-directive approach that puts you at the heart of the process. Rather than offering advice or trying to fix things for you, I work alongside you to create a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, without judgement.
This approach is built on a simple belief: you already hold the capacity for growth and self-understanding. Through a genuine, empathetic relationship, we work together to build your self-awareness and help you find the clarity and confidence to make choices that feel right for you.
This way of working can help with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and divorce or separation. It's particularly suited to anyone looking for a space to feel properly heard, without being told what to do or how to feel.
A bit about me
Before training as a counsellor, I spent years working as an NHS physiotherapist and as a gymnastics coach. Both roles taught me that real change tends to happen gradually, through patience and consistency rather than quick fixes, and that lesson still shapes how I work with clients today.
My approach is calm, grounded, and straightforward. I won't use jargon or analyse you from a distance. My aim is simply to give you the space and time to be properly heard, and to help you find your own way forward.
I'm a registered member of the BACP and work within their ethical framework, so you can trust that our work together meets a recognised professional standard.
