Here to answer your questions
Reaching out for the first time can bring up a lot of questions, so I've tried to answer the most common ones below. If there's something I haven't covered, or you'd simply like to say hello before booking anything, get in touch and I'll reply personally as soon as I can.
Contact Me
If you are in crisis or your safety feels at risk, counselling is not an emergency service. Please contact your GP, call NHS 111, or call the Samaritans free on 116 123.
Frequently asked questions
What happens in the free 15-minute call? This is a short, no-pressure phone or video call where we can say hello, you can share a little about what's bringing you to counselling, and you can ask me anything you'd like before committing to anything further. There's no obligation to book beyond this call.
What happens in a first full session? Session one is mostly about getting to know each other. I'll ask a little about what's brought you to counselling and what you're hoping might change, and you're welcome to ask me anything too. There's no pressure to have it all figured out before we start.
How long are sessions, and how much do they cost? Sessions run for 50 minutes and cost £55. The free 15-minute call beforehand doesn't count towards this.
Do you offer online, phone, or face-to-face sessions? All three. I see clients in person near Truro and Redruth, and offer online or telephone sessions for anyone further afield, or who simply prefers to talk from home.
What's your cancellation policy? I ask for at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. This gives both of us time to adjust, and helps me keep appointment times available for other clients who need them.
Is everything I say confidential? Yes, with the standard limits that apply to all counselling. If I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, I may need to break confidentiality to keep you or others safe. We'll go through this, along with the rest of our working agreement, before we begin, so you know exactly where you stand.
Do I need to commit to a set number of sessions? There's no set number. Some people come for a handful of sessions, others for much longer. We'll review how things are going together, and you're always free to end sessions when it feels right for you.

Working together
